What Is A Ghost 2 Immobiliser
The Ghost 2 Immobiliser is one of the most recognized names in vehicle security.
The original Ghost Immobiliser was introduced in the UK in 2016, gaining a strong reputation for protecting keyless start vehicles from relay attacks and key cloning.
The Ghost 2 Immobiliser enhances security by requiring a unique push sequence before the vehicle can be started.
While originally marketed as a no-wire-cut solution, this is no longer the case. The Autowatch Ghost 2 now requires an external analogue immobiliser (cutting a wire), limiting installation to a single location in most vehicles. This change is essential for securing certain models, but we advise checking your vehicle manufacturer’s warranty terms before installation.
A limited service mode allows temporary system deactivation for garage visits, provided the vehicle does not exceed 30 mph for more than 15 minutes.
What Is A Halo Mini Immobiliser
The Halo Mini is the latest immobiliser on the market, launched in the UK in 2024. It has quickly gained a strong reputation for its extensive support of both new and existing vehicles.
Unlike other systems, the Halo Mini is a true no-wire-cut immobiliser. With continuous testing and the ability to communicate across multiple CAN-Bus networks simultaneously, it supports nearly every vehicle available today.
The system activates automatically when the vehicle is switched off and requires a unique push sequence to start the car—even with the key in hand.
As a fully digital immobiliser, it can be installed anywhere on the vehicle’s CAN-Bus network, making it extremely difficult to locate when hidden within existing wiring looms.
The Halo Mini also features an unlimited service mode for garage visits, which can only be reactivated using your uniqie code.
Additional options allow for remote immobilisation while the vehicle is running (in a safe manner) and disabling push sequence entry. This makes it an ideal choice for car rental companies, offering security while on hire and the ability to stop the vehicle if needed.
